Somebody opens your box, and before they even reach the product there’s a little card sitting on top saying thanks. It takes two seconds to read. People remember it for a lot longer than that, and a fair few of them post a photo of it, which is the whole reason small shops keep ordering custom thank you cards.
Who buys them from us? Etsy people mostly, plus Shopify stores and the candle and soap crowd, and honestly anybody still taping boxes shut by hand at the kitchen table at 11pm. The card is basically you saying come back soon, in your own voice.
Postcard size wins. Around 4 x 6 inches slides flat into a padded mailer and doesn’t get bent, so that’s what most of you end up ordering, though if you ship tiny stuff (a pair of earrings, say, or one lip balm) we’d shrink it down to business card size, 3.5 x 2, and a 5 x 5 square kind of reads more like a gift than a receipt. Folded? Sure, if you want space inside to write a note.
People always ask us what to put on it. We’d go with a big thank you, one or two lines, your shop link and your Instagram or TikTok handle, and maybe a QR code that sends folks to a review page or a discount for next time. Then stop. Eight things on a card and it turns into a flyer (and flyers go straight in the recycling, we’ve all done it).
Flimsy paper is a giveaway. Somebody picks it up, it bends, and the whole nice moment is kind of gone, so our default is thick card stock and we only go thinner if you really push. Matte coated is what most shops pick, partly because a pen actually works on it if you like signing each card yourself, while gloss is more for photo-heavy designs or loud colors, and kraft with one dark ink looks lovely for handmade brands.
Fancier stuff is on the table too. A soft-touch coat feels a bit like velvet. Gold or silver foil on the logo picks up the light when the box flap opens, and we’ve done spot UV on just one word, like THANKS, sitting on matte, which looked great. Rounded corners cost very little. People notice them anyway, funny enough.
The card should look like it came with the box, not from some other company. If your custom mailer boxes are already printed with us, we just pull the same colors and logo file across and the two match. PR and gifting brands tend to slip one into their custom PR boxes, and a clothing shop might hang printed hand tags on each piece in the same design.
No clue what to write? That’s fine.
Just send your logo and a rough idea of the vibe, and our team will do the layout for free, then email you a digital proof, and nothing prints until you’ve said yes to it. Minimums often land around 50 cards depending on size, and after proof approval it’s usually 10 to 12 business days in production, with ground shipping free anywhere in the US. Labels, flyers and the rest of the paper stuff we do all live under commercial printing services if you’re curious.

Pick matte or uncoated stock for that. Gloss and soft-touch look nice, but ink just sits on top and smears.
