Luxury Candle Boxes

Your pricier candles and gift sets need a box that keeps up. We do rigid, or heavy paperboard. Foil logo, soft-touch, sure. And there’s an insert cut around your real jar so it sits still in transit.

Description

We’ve watched it happen in shops, a gorgeous candle in a thin floppy carton and people walk right past, because they figure it’s the cheap one. Harsh? Sure. But that’s how shoppers think, and it’s kind of the whole reason luxury candle boxes are a thing, rigid board or heavy paperboard with an insert so the vessel can’t rattle, and then foil or embossing or a soft-touch wrap, the stuff a person feels the second they pick the box up.

Most of our candle brands in this range pour into heavy vessels. Thick glass, ceramic, sometimes concrete. They sell through boutiques and gift shops and do a huge share of their year between October and Christmas. So the box has to keep a heavy jar from breaking and also make it look worth the money, both at once.

Luxury Candle Boxes Built Around the Vessel

We always start from the vessel, never the box. We need the widest point (count the lip if there is one) and the height with the lid on, and then weigh it full, because a thick glass tumbler with a wooden lid can come close to a pound and that changes which board we’d use. If you want help measuring, our guide on what size box you need for candle packaging walks you through it.

Leave a little room, like a couple of millimeters all round. That lets the insert actually work, and the lid won’t catch when someone lifts the candle out. Go too tight and you’ll see customers yanking it out by the wick. Kind of a rough first impression.

Rigid Box or Folding Carton?

For luxury, rigid is the usual call. Our rigid candle box comes with a lift-off lid or a magnetic flap, it’s solid in the hand, and people hang onto it long after the wax is gone (free shelf advertising, basically). Small votives or a set of three? A drawer style is lovely for that.

Want lighter? Heavy SBS paperboard with a tuck end. Foil and embossing still look great on it, each box costs less and they arrive flat so your stockroom doesn’t fill up. Quite a few brands do rigid for the gift sets and paperboard for single candles, which honestly is what we’d suggest too.

  • Two-piece rigid, lid lifts off
  • Rigid with a magnetic closure
  • Heavy paperboard tuck end

Inserts, Heat and Finishes

The insert is the part that earns its keep. A die-cut board insert or a foam cavity holds the jar upright and off the walls, so when the parcel gets dropped on a porch the glass doesn’t take the hit. Sets get a cavity per jar, no clinking. Our candle boxes with inserts page shows more layouts.

Quick word on heat. A candle sitting in a hot warehouse or a delivery van in July goes soft, and if the box is pressing right on the wax you’ll get marks in the top. Leave a bit of air above it. Finishes? Soft-touch with gold or silver foil is the classic, and we like adding an embossed logo, it’s a texture your thumb finds before your eyes do.

Ordering Your Luxury Candle Packaging

Minimums are often around 50 boxes depending on the style, and per-box price goes down as you go up. Our design team builds the dieline around your vessel and lays out the artwork for free. You’ll get a digital proof first, then a physical sample if you ask, so you can try it with a real candle.

Production is usually 10 to 12 business days once the proof’s approved. Holiday rush? It’s available, but plan ahead. Ground shipping in the USA is free. Have a look through the wider candle packaging boxes range, or send us your vessel size and we’ll quote it.

Luxury Candle Boxes FAQs

Do luxury candle boxes need an insert?

Glass or ceramic, shipping online? Yes, we’d always put one in. It keeps the jar off the walls.

What about a really heavy concrete or stone vessel?

Totally doable with rigid board and a firm insert. Just tell us the filled weight so we pick the right thickness.

What finish looks best on a black candle box?

Most people end up with soft-touch matte and gold or silver foil. If you want quieter, try spot UV on just the logo.
