Boxes for CBD creams, balms, serums and face oils, cut to fit your jar or dropper so the glass stays still. Printed SBS or kraft, with real room on the sides for strength, ingredients and batch number. Soft-touch or foil if you like.
Your time is very important to us so we have kept it short.
Here’s what’s funny about CBD skincare. It sits on the same shelf as any old moisturizer, yet people pick it up and read the box like it’s a contract, hunting for the milligrams, the ingredients and where the stuff actually came from. So your CBD cosmetic packaging boxes need to look like proper beauty packaging and carry about twice the text of a normal face cream carton. Tricky.
We do these for CBD face creams, body balms, serums, bath bits and gift sets. A lot of our customers are wellness shops on their first product line, and some are skincare brands bolting a CBD range on next to what they already sell. Nobody wants it to look like an impulse buy from a head shop. Can’t blame them, you’re asking someone to put this on their face.
What’s the container? Usually a squat jar for the cream or balm. Or a dropper for the serum, and now and then a lotion tube. We measure it with the cap on and give it just enough room to slide in without a fight.
Glass is where we’d add a cardstock insert, it keeps a jar or dropper standing up and stops it clinking against the walls every time the box gets moved. Single items usually go in a tuck end box. A cream and serum combo, or a gift set, sits better in a two-piece box with a shaped insert. Got a few products? Our CBD cream boxes and custom serum boxes can carry the same design so the line looks like a family.
Side panels on a CBD box get crowded fast. You’ve got the strength in milligrams, what kind of extract it is, the full ingredient list, directions and warnings, the batch or lot number, and quite often a QR code that goes to the lab results. That’s a lot of words for a box the size of a fist, so we’d sort the layout out early, before anything gets squeezed onto a tuck flap in 5 point type.
Our design team does the dieline and fits all of that in for free, and checks your files for print problems too. One thing we can’t do for you, though. CBD labeling rules differ from state to state and they keep changing, so run it past your own advisor. Our CBD packaging labels guide is a decent place to start reading.
Most CBD beauty brands end up either clinical or botanical. Clinical is white SBS with matte or soft-touch. Botanical is kraft and some greens or earthy browns. A gold foil logo, a little embossing or a touch of spot UV makes it feel pricier without yelling about it.
And the cannabis leaf clip art? We’d skip it if you’re pitching spas or beauty counters, a lot of those buyers get twitchy about it.
Kraft boxes are mostly recyclable, which suits the plant story a lot of CBD brands like to tell, and we print with soy-based and water-based inks. Other formats are in the wider CBD packaging range.
Sure, that’s just a design call. Plenty of brands keep CBD small on the front and put the full story on the back, and mainstream beauty stores seem happier with that.
Yep, in our experience it does, because you can’t really get a 30 ml dropper and a fat 50 ml jar happy in one box. Same artwork on both though, no problem.
Our minimums are low, often around 50 boxes depending on the style, and each box costs less as the quantity goes up. Production takes 10 to 12 business days after you approve the proof, and ground shipping in the USA is free.
