Cartons for CBD body lotion, hand cream and balm, whether it’s in a pump bottle, a tube or a squat jar. We print on SBS or kraft and leave proper room on the back for ingredients, the CBD amount and a batch number. Want soft-touch or a bit of foil? Easy, and design help is free.
Your time is very important to us so we have kept it short.
Is it skincare or is it wellness? Shoppers can’t quite decide with CBD lotion, and to be fair they’re a bit wary of both, so your CBD lotion boxes need to look clean and honest while carrying a mountain of label text, and somehow fit anything from a skinny 1 oz tube up to a chunky 8 oz pump.
Most of the brands who call us are hemp skincare lines, spas, little makers doing weekend markets. Usually after a first batch of plain white cartons that made a lovely cream look like a free pharmacy sample.
Pumps cause the headaches.
The head adds maybe an inch and the nozzle pokes out sideways, so we need extra height and a bit of width up top, and since a lot of brands ship with the pump twisted down and locked, measure it like that (it saves you a few millimeters, which adds up across a case). Tubes are the easy ones, they go in a slim tuck end carton, and honestly that carton is there for the print more than for protection because a tube can’t really break. Balm in a jar? Short square box, maybe a lift-off lid.
Glass pump bottles like to tip over inside the carton, so we’d add a neck insert. Plastic ones mostly don’t need it, and skipping it saves you a few cents a box.
You’ll be surprised how much text this stuff needs, way more than a normal hand cream, so ingredients, how much CBD is in the whole container, directions, warnings, batch number, and nearly always a QR code going to the lab results. Our CBD packaging laws and labels guide runs through what US brands usually print, but get your own legal person to sign off the final words.
Our trick is to do the back and sides first. Then the front gets whatever space is left. We do that layout free and we’ll tell you if some line of type is too tiny to print sharp. About QR codes, keep a clear margin around them, make them about 2 cm across at least, and please don’t let one wrap over a fold, phones hate that.
What works for most wellness brands we see is soft-touch with one foil detail, calm and a bit expensive feeling, nothing shouty. Going for the plant-based thing? Kraft with dark green ink is lovely. We sometimes put spot UV on a leaf, or just the logo. Subtle.
If you sell a body lotion plus a hand cream plus a muscle rub, we’d keep one layout and only change the color per product, because after a week or two your regulars spot the pattern and your CBD lotion boxes start reading as a set.
For thicker creams, our CBD cream boxes fit jars better, and if you also do serums or lip stuff take a look at CBD cosmetic packaging boxes. Everything else sits in CBD packaging boxes, or ask for pricing through the quote form.
Not really. The little bottle rattles around in the big box, so we’d do two sizes with the same artwork.
White if you want crisp tiny text and true colors. Kraft feels more natural, though every color prints a shade darker on it.
Yep, we leave a blank spot on the flap and you stick a seal label on after packing. Loads of CBD brands do exactly that.
Similar options include CBD dropper bottle boxes, CBD display boxes, CBD cream boxes and CBD tincture boxes. Browse all of them in CBD packaging boxes. For measurements, see cosmetic box sizes.
