Colored Mailer Boxes

Corrugated mailers printed in your brand color, outside, inside, or both if you want to go all in. We use E-flute with a tuck front and dust flaps. They ship to you flat, close up without tape, and the customer sees your pink (or navy, or whatever) on the porch instead of plain brown.

Description

Pink. Navy. That one green your designer spent three weeks arguing about. We print colored mailer boxes in a solid brand shade on corrugated board, usually with the logo on the lid and maybe a second color or a pattern inside, so the customer knows it’s yours on the doorstep.

The tricky bit? Corrugated drinks ink differently from paper, so a big flat color can come out a touch uneven, or a shade off, if nobody’s paying attention.

Colored Mailer Boxes Printed Inside and Out

Outside is for the courier and the neighbor. Inside is for your customer.

A lot of shops we work with keep the outside kind of quiet, black or white or kraft with a small logo in the corner, and then go loud on the inside, partly for the unboxing video and partly because a plain box sitting on a porch for six hours doesn’t shout “steal me”. Some do it the other way round and flood the outside with color. Fine too. Printing both sides does cost a bit more though, so we’d ask which side is actually doing the work for you before paying for both.

Holiday runs are fun. Keep your usual color all year, then order, say, 200 boxes in deep red for December on the same dieline, and regulars notice (way cheaper than a rebrand).

For the classic dark look, our black mailer boxes are a popular pick, and the full custom mailer boxes range covers kraft and white options too.

Getting a Brand Color Right on Corrugated

Most colors print close. Not all of them.

Full color print mixes everything from four inks, and the ones that give us grief are neon anything, really hot oranges and a couple of those electric blues, which honestly just can’t be hit dead on with four colors. On a big flat panel you might also see a little mottling, and lamination smooths that out a lot. Matte tones a loud color down and hides scuffs; gloss goes the other way, deeper and shinier, kind of wet looking.

Dark boxes have one weak spot. When the board gets knocked at an edge, the liner cracks and you get a pale white line right where everyone looks, so if your parcels go through four or five sorting centers we’d go matte, or lighten the shade a notch. Got a Pantone number? Send it over, and if the color is a big deal for you (with colored mailer boxes it usually is) ask us for a physical sample first.

Sizing Colored Mailers for Shipping

Board? Usually E-flute. It’s thin, folds nice and crisp, takes print well, and it’ll carry a folded hoodie or a few jars of face cream or a hardback book without fuss, and if your stuff is heavier we just bump you up to B-flute.

Leave yourself a little gap around the product for tissue and a thank-you card, not more than that, because loose stuff rattles and dents corners. If you’re stuck on sizes, our mailer box dimensions guide goes through the common ones and how the carriers bill for them.

Minimums are often around 50 boxes depending on the style, so you can try a color on a small run before you’re stuck with 3,000 of them in the garage. We set up the dieline and your artwork free and send you a digital proof. More styles are over in corrugated shipping boxes.

Colored Mailer Box FAQs

Can I have a different color inside and outside?

Sure. We print the two sides separately, so black outside with hot pink inside is no problem at all.

Will the color rub off in shipping?

Dark colors with no coating do scuff at the corners, it happens. Put matte or gloss lamination on and the print holds up fine through most courier networks.

Do colored mailers need tape?

Nope, the front tucks in and locking ears hold it shut. Plenty of shops still add a sticker seal anyway.
