Lipstick cartons, serum boxes, the big rigid gift set for the holidays, we make the whole lineup for skincare, makeup and hair brands. Tuck end or sleeve or magnet, a window if you want one, foil or soft-touch on top, and it all matches.
Your time is very important to us so we have kept it short.
Box first, price second, product last. Not fair. But we’ve watched people do it in stores plenty, so yeah, custom cosmetic boxes are a big deal for a new makeup or skincare line, and you spent months on that serum, right? It shouldn’t go out in a white carton with a sticker on it.
Who calls us? Indie beauty folks, salon lines, private label skincare, the occasional influencer collab. And nearly every one of them has the same headache, a tube and a jar and a dropper and a compact that somehow need to look like they came from the same house.
Our advice? Lock the font. Lock where the logo goes and the finish too, then just let one color stripe change per product. Your lipstick and your moisturizer end up looking like siblings even though one’s ten times the size of the other (people really notice that on a shelf). We draw each dieline and lay the art out for free, which keeps the spacing honest.
Product specific styles help too. Slim lipstick boxes, dropper friendly serum boxes and wide cartons for jars all come from the same toolkit of tuck end, sleeve and window styles.
Only four products at launch? Fine. Get the look right on, say, a lipstick and a 2 oz jar first. We’ve seen brands try to cram product six into a layout that was drawn for exactly one box and it’s a mess every time.
Usually SBS paperboard. We like it because the colors come out bright and the foil sits crisp on it, plus even a tiny lip balm carton folds without the corners cracking. Clean beauty brand? Go kraft, the brown unbleached look kind of says it for you. Rigid board is for gift sets, PR kits and anything at a higher price point, where weight in the hand tells the customer this is special.
Glass jars and heavy compacts sometimes need a card insert so they don’t rub against each other. A loose jar can scuff its own label inside the box before it ever reaches a customer, and that’s a sad thing to find in a review photo.
Pump bottles are the other awkward ones. The pump head is narrower than the bottle, so without a neck insert the bottle leans and the pump gets pressed against the top flap. Nope, not ideal for a lotion. A simple card collar fixes it.
Ask ten beauty brands and maybe seven want soft-touch, that velvety coat, and fair enough, though it picks up fingerprints a bit so we’d be careful with black or navy. Foil on white or blush board? Lovely. We also like a raised, embossed logo you feel with your thumb the second you pick it up, and for loud, trendy makeup, holographic foil is a fun one.
Selling online mostly? Then think about the shipper too. Our makeup shipping boxes guide explains how to pair retail cartons with a mailer. Browse the full cosmetic boxes category for every format.
Yes. Each size gets its own line on the quote, and you can mix styles in one order. Minimums are low, often around 50 boxes per style.
Kraft and most paperboard boxes are recyclable, and we print with soy-based and water-based inks. Skipping lamination keeps them easier to recycle.
You’ll get a digital proof as standard, and a physical sample is available on request. Ask us when you send your sizes.
Plenty of customers order this alongside custom serum boxes, custom nail polish boxes, custom eyelash boxes and skin cleansing boxes. More styles are in cosmetic boxes, and cosmetic box sizes covers the common sizes.
