Custom Lotion Boxes Packaging

Cartons for body lotion and hand cream, whether it’s in a pump bottle, a squeeze tube or a jar. We cut it to your container, add a neck insert if the pump wobbles, and leave the back panel free for ingredients and directions. Matte’s the usual finish.

Description

Lotion is one of those products people buy by touch and smell, and they can’t do either through a sealed box. So the carton has to do the talking. Custom Lotion Boxes Packaging gives body care brands a printed box sized to their bottle, tube or jar, with enough room on the panels to explain the scent, the skin type and what’s in it.

Most of our lotion customers are small skincare brands, spa lines, soap makers who’ve added a body lotion and gift shops putting together hand cream sets. The everyday problem they bring us is leaks. A pump that gets pressed in transit ruins the box and anything near it.

Custom Lotion Boxes Packaging for Pumps, Tubes and Jars

Pump bottles are the trickiest. The pump head needs to be locked (most have a twist-lock) and the box should be tall enough that the top flap doesn’t press down on it. We’d add a neck insert so it stands up and stays put. Tubes are easy, slim carton, maybe a little die-cut card for the crimped end. And a jar of body butter? Short square box, or a sleeve over a tray if you want it to feel a bit nicer.

Measure with the cap or pump on, tallest and widest. Then add a few millimeters. Too tight and the box splits at the glue seam when packed. Too loose and the bottle bangs around.

Board and Finish Choices for Lotion Cartons

Most people go with SBS paperboard and honestly it’s hard to argue, bright, accurate color, clean folds. Organic or unscented line? Kraft has that botanical look. And if the lotion’s a gift item, say a holiday set with a 16 oz bottle, a rigid box with a lift-off lid gives it some heft.

Lotions have oils in them, and oil stains uncoated board. That’s why most lotion boxes get a lamination. Right now skincare people mostly want matte, which looks calm, and the velvety soft-touch is a close second, while the bright fun brands still go gloss (we don’t blame them). For accents, embossing on the logo or a small area of foil does a lot without much cost.

Lotion Box Design That Sells the Scent

Nobody can sniff through cardboard. So the color and a couple of words do the job, lavender, vanilla, unscented, whatever, and if every scent gets its own color band people find theirs on the shelf in two seconds. Short claims like “fast absorbing” or “for dry hands” help too, but keep them honest and simple.

The back panel carries ingredients, directions, volume and your contact details. Our team sets up that layout at no extra cost and checks your files for type that’s too small to print cleanly. If you sell creams in jars too, our cream packaging boxes can share the same design, and brands with hemp products often pair them with CBD lotion boxes.

Shipping Lotion Online

If most of your sales are online, the retail box will sit inside a mailer. Lotion is heavy for its size, so a sturdy outer box and some void fill make a real difference. Our article on corrugated packaging for cosmetic brands covers how to set that up without overspending.

You can often start with about 50 boxes depending on the style, and each one costs less as the order grows. You’ll approve a digital proof before printing, and you can request a physical sample. Production is 10 to 12 business days after approval, with free ground shipping in the USA. See more options in our cosmetic boxes collection.

Custom Lotion Boxes Packaging FAQs

Do pump bottles need an insert?

It’s a good idea. A neck insert keeps the bottle upright and stops the pump head from pressing against the top flap.

Which finish works best for lotion boxes?

Matte lamination is the most popular for skincare. It resists oil marks from fingers and gives a clean, modern feel.

Can one box fit several bottle sizes?

Not well. A 250 ml bottle in a box made for 400 ml will slide around, so we suggest one box size per bottle size.
