Got a liner and liquid lipstick that go together? Or a gloss trio, or a whole lip care set? We make SBS cartons or rigid boxes for those, with a die-cut insert that gives every tube its own little slot, and you can add foil or a window. Artwork setup is free, and you’ll see a digital proof first.
Your time is very important to us so we have kept it short.
Most lip kits are a pair. Liner plus liquid lipstick, same shade. Then you get the gloss trios and the balm-and-scrub sets and, every December, somebody’s box of five minis, and the job of custom lip kit boxes is to keep all of that standing up in the right order when the lid comes off (trickier than you’d think, since no two tubes are the same length).
Beauty brands, makeup artists with their own line, private label sellers and PR teams order these. What they’re trying to avoid is a box where the liner rolls under the lipstick and the customer opens a jumble.
For the usual two-piece kit we’d go with a slim tuck end or a sleeve box and an insert that holds the lipstick and the pencil next to each other. Each gets its own cutout. The pencil is long and skinny and the wand tube is short and chunky, so one big slot just lets them flop around. Measure them with the caps on, and watch out for pencils with a sharpener on the end or a twist-up base, they run longer than you’d guess.
Bigger sets? Magnetic flap or a two-piece rigid box, with a wrapped insert. People open it slowly, and then it ends up on the vanity holding bobby pins for months with your logo on it.
Paperboard inserts are the budget-friendly option and recycle easily. Foam holds products very firmly but looks a bit utilitarian unless it’s covered. Board wrapped in printed paper is the premium route. A few layouts we draw often:
Too tight is a real problem with lip products. Customers pull the tube out by the cap, the cap comes off, and gloss ends up on the insert. So we leave a small clearance, and you can check it on a physical sample before the bulk run.
It’s all about the color, really. Some brands print a swatch on the outside, others cut a window so you see the actual tube. If you want the fancy look, soft-touch plus a foil logo is what most people land on, and holographic foil is fun if your brand is on the playful side. We lay out the art for free and you get a digital proof before anything prints. For a range with lots of shades, custom lip kit boxes usually share one design with only the shade name and a color band changing.
Matching single-item cartons are on our lip gloss boxes and lipstick boxes pages, and launches often go out in makeup PR boxes. The makeup shipping boxes guide covers mailing kits safely, and the full cosmetic boxes range has everything else.
Yes. Keep the box and insert the same, then change only the shade name or color band on the print.
Wrapped board looks the neatest. For a slim two-piece kit, though, plain paperboard does the job and saves you a bit.
They can. A window cutout over the tube shows the real shade, which a printed swatch can’t always match.
