Boxes for video doorbells, wired chimes and wireless kits, sized around the unit and every part that ships with it. A die cut insert keeps the lens away from the bracket and screws, and the outside carries your specs, app details and install notes in full color.
Your time is very important to us so we have kept it short.
A video doorbell kit is an awkward thing to pack. The device itself is small, but it travels with a mounting plate, a corner wedge, a bag of screws, maybe a chime and a power adapter, and all of it has to ride together without the camera lens taking a knock. Custom doorbell packaging boxes are built around that whole kit, not just the doorbell.
Most of the people who order these are smart home brands selling online and through hardware stores, plus a few installers who put together their own bundles. The complaint we hear first is nearly always the same: a stock box, loose parts rattling around inside, and a scuffed faceplate when the customer opens it.
We start with your parts list. Send the doorbell, the bracket and whatever accessories go in, or just the measurements if samples aren’t ready yet (our guide on how to measure a box properly helps here). The team then draws a dieline with a main cavity for the unit and smaller pockets for the hardware, at no extra cost.
A paperboard insert with a die cut cradle is the usual pick. Doorbell sits face up, the screw bag can’t wander over onto the lens, and the quick start card goes flat on top. Glass front? Domed camera? Then we leave a few millimetres of air over it, so even a customer sitting on the box (it happens) won’t push the lid down onto it. That tiny gap saves a lot of returns.
For store shelves, a tuck carton in SBS paperboard gives you a sharp printed face and room for a hang tab if the retailer pegs products. Plenty of brands start with simple custom tuck end boxes and add the insert inside. If you want the unboxing to feel more like a phone launch, a tray and sleeve or a rigid two piece box does that, though it costs more per unit.
Selling mostly direct to the customer? We’d just use an E-flute corrugated mailer, slap the label on and off it goes. A few brands do both, the printed carton slid into a plain brown shipper. Which one’s right for you kind of depends on volume and where the box ends up living, so give us a call.
Buyers in a hardware aisle compare boxes side by side, so the panels need to answer questions fast. Wired or battery? Which Wi-Fi band? Does it work with the chime already in the wall? A clear product photo on the front, a what’s in the box list on one side and a short compatibility panel on the back covers most of it. Oh, and put a QR code to the setup app on there. Saves a lot of support emails.
For finish, we see a lot of electronics brands go matte with spot UV over the product photo. Want it to feel pricier? Soft-touch. We print with soy-based and water-based inks. If you also sell security gear, the same design system carries over to home alarm packaging boxes, and you can see more device styles in our electronics packaging boxes range.
Minimums are low, often around 50 boxes depending on the style, and the price per box drops as quantity climbs. You get a digital proof first, a physical sample if you ask for one, then production in 10 to 12 business days after approval, with free ground shipping anywhere in the USA. When you’re ready, send us your kit details for a quote.
Usually, yes, if the two units share a footprint. We size the cavity to the larger model and adjust the insert pockets, then print a different label or sticker area for each version.
Not always. A sturdy paperboard carton inside a plain shipper works fine for most units, but a corrugated mailer is the simpler choice if the printed box goes out on its own.
It can. We add a second pocket sized to the chime, usually beside or under the main unit, so the two never touch in transit.
Brands ordering these often look at custom USB data cable packaging boxes, custom motherboard packaging boxes, custom massager packaging boxes and custom drone packaging boxes as well. You can see the full range in product packaging.
