Blister packs and printed blister cards for tablets, capsules, softgels, vitamins and small medical bits. Every dose gets its own clear cavity, with a printed card or foil lidding behind it and an outer carton if you want one. Clear dosing layouts, and room for your label text.
Your time is very important to us so we have kept it short.
Push one tablet out and the rest stay sealed. That’s really the whole idea behind pharmaceutical blister packaging, each tablet or capsule sitting in its own little pocket until somebody actually needs it, and it’s why you see it on everything from prescription packs to vitamins, sleep aids, allergy tablets and supplement samples.
Who orders it from us? Mostly supplement and nutraceutical brands, small pharmacies with a private label line, clinics putting starter packs together. They want doses kept dry and apart. They want it obvious when one’s been taken, and they want enough printed info on there that a patient uses it right.
Two parts. Up front there’s a clear plastic sheet formed into small cavities, one per dose, and on the back either foil lidding you push the tablet through or a printed paperboard card heat sealed to the plastic. For tablets and capsules most people go foil, since it keeps moisture out well, and the card-backed kind turns up more on supplements and samples and anything hanging on a retail peg.
Cavity size matters more than you’d think, honestly. Too tight and the tablet cracks on the way out. Too loose, it rattles, which feels cheap and can chip coated tablets over a few months, so send us a handful of your real tablets or capsules and we’ll form the cavity around those.
This is where blister packs earn their keep. On a 7 or 14 cavity pack we can print days of the week, AM and PM rows or just numbers, so a patient looks down and knows straight away whether today’s pill is gone. Supplement brands doing 30-day programs love the calendar style.
On the card side you’ll want room for:
What has to be printed depends on your product and how it’s sold, so get your regulatory team or contract packer to sign off on the wording. We print exactly what you approve. Our designers set up the layout for free and check your files for print problems, and you get a digital proof before production.
Most blister packs end up in a folding carton, one card per box or a few stacked. We’d use bright SBS paperboard, mainly because tiny dosing text stays sharp on it and people really do need to read that stuff. Our custom medicine boxes are made to match blister card sizes, and the medicine box dimensions guide covers common ones.
Selling over-the-counter or supplements on pegs? A card-backed blister with a hang hole, like our blister card packaging, or have a look through all our pharmaceutical packaging. Minimums are low, often around 50 units depending on the build. It takes 10 to 12 business days after proof approval, and ground shipping across the USA is free. For anything that holds medication we’d really push you to get a physical sample before the full run.
For tablets and capsules, usually foil. It keeps moisture out and pushes through cleanly, while card suits supplements, samples and peg packs.
Yes. Days, AM and PM rows or numbers go right over the cavities, so people can see what they’ve taken.
Send a few real tablets or capsules. We leave just a little clearance so they pop out clean and don’t rattle.
Brands ordering these often look at blister card packaging, plastic blister packaging, blister packaging for toys and custom action figure blister packs as well. You can see the full range in custom blister packaging, and our guide to medicine box dimensions helps with sizing.
