Most lenses come in little foil blisters. Dailies are often strips of 30 or 90, monthlies come in pairs or sixes, and either way the blisters should sit snug in a row so they don’t slide around and crease the foil. Tuck end with dust flaps is the usual format. We like a reverse tuck here, since it opens from either end.

You’d be surprised how much abuse a box this small takes. A monthly supply gets opened every morning, often with wet hands in a steamy bathroom, and a tuck flap that rips by day five drives people nuts. Slightly heavier board and well scored folds get it through to the last pair.
Give the specs their own panel. Light background, dark text, readable size. A lot of brands leave a blank spot there and stick a printed label with the power on each box at packing, which beats printing a separate version for every prescription.
What text legally has to appear? Check that with your lens supplier or adviser, we only do the packaging side. We do check your files for tiny type and print problems though, and you’ll see a digital proof before anything goes to press.
With cosmetic lenses the box is part of the look. We can cut a small window to frame a printed eye swatch, and holographic foil or a soft pastel matte suits the beauty crowd. Matching a printed swatch to the real tint is a bit fiddly, so hold the proof up next to an actual lens. Some sellers do a gift kit with lenses, a case, tweezers and a mini mirror in a rigid box with a card insert (people love opening those on camera).
