Your time is very important to us so we have kept it short.
In December half your orders are gifts. Somebody else opens them, maybe on the porch, maybe in the kitchen, maybe it just goes under the tree still sealed until the 25th and then gets torn open with the whole family watching. Custom Christmas mailer boxes make that moment look planned. A printed corrugated mailer, red and gold or snowy white or whatever fits your brand, that’s sturdy enough for the busiest shipping weeks of the year.
We print these for online shops, bakeries shipping cookie tins, subscription boxes doing a holiday edition and companies sending gifts to clients and staff.
The standard build is a roll end tuck top mailer. One flat sheet folds up, side flaps tuck in, lid locks shut, no tape needed (well, you’ll still slap a strip or a sticker on top before it ships). Board? E-flute mostly, it prints sharp and holds up fine for most gifts. Glass candles or bottles, we’d bump you to B-flute.
Size it to the product plus whatever goes around it: tissue, crinkle paper, a card. A mailer with too much air inside lets things slide, and you’ll pay more in postage for the extra volume. Our mailer box dimensions guide has standard sizes worth starting from.
This is the part that catches people out. Holiday packaging needs to be in your hands before your busy period starts, not when it starts. Standard production is 10 to 12 business days after you approve the proof, then transit on top of that. Add a few days for artwork back and forth. So if you want to start shipping holiday orders in mid November, start talking to us around early October.
Rush production and shipping are available if you’re late, but we’d rather you didn’t need it. Some brands order a plain or lightly branded mailer for the year and a separate holiday print run, which spreads the work out. Our regular custom mailer boxes share the same sizes, so it’s easy to do both.
Outside print is what the courier and the neighbors see. Inside print is what your customer sees, and it’s often the bit people film. A full pattern of snowflakes or holly inside the lid, or a short note like “Merry Christmas from all of us,” costs very little extra and changes how the box feels when it opens.
Gold foil is a classic for Christmas, and works best on a matte background. On a winter white box we kind of love holographic foil. Our inks are soy or water-based and most corrugated mailers can go in the recycling, so you might as well say so on the box, the bins get stuffed by the 26th anyway. Inserts can hold a gift set in place, like three jars or a candle and a matchbox.
Our team sets up the dieline and lays out the holiday artwork at no extra cost, and checks your files for print issues. Minimums are low, often around 50 boxes depending on the style, with lower pricing per box as you order more. Ground shipping is free anywhere in the USA. Aim for early October if you ship from mid November. That leaves time for proofs, the 10 to 12 day production window and delivery.
Yes. Keeping the size and only changing the artwork is quicker to set up and keeps your packing station the same.
For gifts, usually yes. It’s what the person opening the box sees first, and it adds little to the cost.
