Custom Christmas cupcake boxes for that mad December rush. We print your holiday design on them and fit inserts for anything from a single cupcake up to 24. Add a window lid, a carry handle for party orders, and red, green, gold or silver foil touches.
Your time is very important to us so we have kept it short.
December gets crazy for bakers. The cupcakes get crazier too, piped trees, fondant snowmen, tiny sugar candy canes jammed in the top, and our custom Christmas cupcake boxes are sized so none of that gets crushed (and so the box kind of looks like a present already when someone picks it up).
Who orders them? Bakeries and cafes mostly, plus home bakers doing preorders and the odd company sending treats out to clients. Their biggest worry is timing. Order too late and the boxes turn up after the parties are over.
Holiday cupcakes tend to be taller. A topper or a mini gingerbread man sitting on a frosting swirl can push the total height past 4 inches, which won’t fit a standard box. We usually suggest 4.5 to 5 inches of internal height for decorated holiday sets, plus a little more space between cavities so toppers don’t knock into each other.
Fitted inserts with holes sized to your liners keep each cupcake in place. Six and twelve count boxes are the big sellers at Christmas, with single boxes for office gifts and stocking treats.
Holiday cupcakes also travel more than usual. They go from the bakery to an office party, then home with someone on the bus. A box with front locking tabs and a firm base copes with that far better than a flimsy one held shut by a sticker. For big trays of 24, a corrugated base is worth the small extra cost.
Now the fun bit. Red and green, sure, everyone does it, but we also see a lot of winter white with silver foil snowflakes, and kraft with just one red print that looks kind of homemade in a good way, and if you want some sparkle under the shop lights we’d put gold foil on the logo and stop there.
Watching the budget? Print a winter design that doesn’t say Christmas anywhere on it. Snowflakes, pine branches, your logo in silver. Leftover boxes then work fine through January and February instead of sitting in the storeroom until next year.
A window lid shows off the decorating, which matters when the decorating is what you’re selling. Some bakers print a small to and from panel on the lid so the box is ready to give. We set up the dieline and lay out the artwork free, then send a digital proof.
Here’s what catches people out. Standard production is 10 to 12 business days after you approve the proof, and the proof stage takes as long as your edits take. So if you want boxes in hand by early December, start in early November. Our article on standard turnaround times for custom printed boxes explains each step. Rush production is available if you’re cutting it close.
A lot of bakers print a holiday box alongside matching Christmas cookie boxes, then switch back to their everyday custom cupcake boxes in January. There are more seasonal styles under Christmas packaging boxes.
Yes. A gable top with a die-cut handle works well for six and twelve count boxes, and it keeps hands off the window.
Deep reds and dark greens print well on kraft. Pale colors and very fine lines can look dull on brown board, so we may suggest white board for those designs.
Yes. Minimums are low, often around 50 boxes depending on the style. Send your counts and design idea and we’ll quote it.
